Frequently Asked Questions
- My school isn't listed in the Academic Section of the Scholarship Application. What do I do?
Click on "Other Schools Not Listed." Schools are generated according to the state you entered in the Personal Information Section. If you live in a different state than where you attended school, you will run into this issue.
- Are Private Donor Scholarships added on top of my Trapper Scholarship?
No. Think of your Trapper Scholarship as a package of Private Donor Scholarships. You may receive several Private Donor Scholarships, but they'll all come to you in a single Trapper Scholarship award.
You can add Academic and Activity-Talent Scholarships on top of your Trapper Scholarship.
Students receiving Athletic Scholarships (excluding Soccer) cannot accept Trapper Scholarships.
- I forgot my username and password for the scholarship application. What do I do?
No problem! The system will email your login information to you. From the login page, click "Forgot My Password." Enter either your username or NWC student ID number (don't forget the zeros at the beginning - this should be a seven-digit number). Then check your email. If you're still having problems, email Jennifer Stauffer, and she'll reset your information for you.
- What do I do when my scholarship account says "Your application is locked because you were awarded one or more scholarships"?
After you have been awarded a scholarship, your account automatically locks. This normally means your application is complete and requires no additional information. However, if you choose to access your application, contact Jennifer Stauffer so she can unlock it for you.
- Why do I keep receiving emails that say "Your Scholarship Application is not complete"?
That's because your application is not complete and you will not be considered for scholarships until you click "APPLY NOW" for at least one scholarship listed in the Recommended Scholarship Section.
- What's my Student ID#?
If you're a new student, your student ID number is emailed to you a few days after you apply for admission. You will need this seven-digit number to complete your Scholarship Application. If you're a returning student, you can find your student ID number on your NWC college ID card.
- When will I know how much I get in scholarships?
Here's how the scholarship process works:
- It starts when you apply for admission. You'll receive your student ID number via email within a few days. Hang on to it.
- Next step is to apply for scholarships. This is when you'll use your student ID number.
- Watch your email - Academic and Activity-Talent Scholarship notifications are sent to the email address you provide in the scholarship application.
- Within two weeks, you'll be emailed a Provisional Trapper Scholarship if you qualify.
- During the summer, after we receive your official transcripts, we'll notify you of the Private Donor Scholarship(s) funding your Trapper Scholarship.
- Before you can accept your Trapper Scholarship, you must send us a thank-you letter addressed to the private donors who are funding your Trapper.
- If you've completed each of the preceding steps before you arrive for school, you're all set!
