Executive Director: Ingrid Eickstedt
Ingrid Eickstedt is the Executive Director for the PCSD#1/NWC Board of Educational Services which operates under the name of Powell Valley Community Education. It's a fancy title for being a servant to the community. That's a role that suits Ingrid's personality, networking talents and professional abilities. Mostly, she finds needs in the community and does what it takes to meet them. She organizes noncredit enrichment classes from her office located at Northwest College and also oversees driver education programs in Powell. In addition, she co-coordinates the annual Powell Health & Safety Fair.Ingrid has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wyoming's geography department with an equally strong minor in business to accompany nearly two decades of business management experience. She also has an associate degree in liberal arts from Northwest College, and an associate of applied science degree in business management/travel & tourism. She has also done some graduate-level work in the area of marketing for adventure education. Her major academic foci have been on natural resource based tourism, business, natural and social sciences.
Ingrid was the surprised and grateful recipient of the 2005 Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce's Educator of the Year Award and is a graduate of the 2002 Park County Leadership Institute.
Ingrid's favorite place in the world is Alaska. Other travels have taken her throughout the continental United States and Hawaii, Europe, Canada, Malta, the Caribbean and parts of China. Her last best urban travel experience was in Prague, Czech Republic.
Ingrid is an active member of the Powell Coalition Against Substance Abuse and the Park County Health Coalition. She was the Chairperson for the Tourism Committee of the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce from 1999 until December 2003. She also has been a volunteer certified level one presenter for Wyoming Operation Lifesaver, which gives free presentations to various community groups to promote safety at railroad crossings and on railroad property.
She is currently a board member for the Allen Foundation, a foundation whose goal is to improve conditions for women, children and families in Sigida, Tanzania through economic development opportunities for women, assistance to orphaned children, and the construction of a women's center. Ingrid also is a proud member of the Yellowstone Business Partnership, the Montana Traffic Educators Association, and the American Driver and Traffic Safety Educators Association.
